This dark green women’s backpack was created from upholstery fabric that was destined to end up as offcuts on the factory floor. The green is deep and muted, closer to bottle green than grass green, and in the light, the weave texture is clearly visible. <\/p>\n
We sewed it in a single piece at our workshop in Ciechan\u00f3w. We won’t be making another one exactly like it, as this particular piece has already run out. <\/p>\n

Upholstery fabrics rarely find their way into haberdashery. They’re too thick, too stiff, and too difficult to cut to be worth mass-producing. However, they hold their shape for years, and that’s what matters most in a backpack. <\/p>\n
The main material is a dark green upholstery fabric, a scrap from a furniture factory. New, unused, and simply too small to upholster anything. The weight is significantly higher than that of clothing materials, so the backpack doesn’t bunch up on your back or lose its shape when empty. <\/p>\n
We’ve sewn in a new waterproof lining. The zippers, straps, and hardware are also new, purchased separately. The outer fabric, not the furnishings, is recycled. <\/p>\n
The dimensions are 34 x 27 cm measured without the bottle pocket, which means the front alone is larger than an A4 sheet of paper.<\/p>\n
The main compartment has three pockets: one zippered and two slip-in pockets. This way, your phone, wallet, and keys all have their own space and don’t end up at the bottom with the rest. <\/p>\n
There are two more pockets on the outside, both zippered. The front one is for small items you reach for on the go. The back one fits snugly against your back, so you can keep anything you don’t want exposed on the bus there. <\/p>\n
Two drink holders on the sides keep the bottle from taking up space inside. There’s also a carry handle and adjustable shoulder straps. <\/p>\n
For someone who leaves the house for the day and doesn’t want to repack. Documents and a second breakfast in the morning, shopping at the market in the afternoon, and a walk in the evening. Stroller attachments are especially useful when one hand is already occupied. <\/p>\n
Green is subdued enough to pair well with beige, brown, denim, and black. No styling is necessary underneath. <\/p>\n
It is best to remove stains with a damp cloth and a mild detergent, spot on. If you need to wash everything, wash it by hand in lukewarm water. Horizontal drying, at room temperature. No tumble dryer and no iron. <\/p>\n
The lining, or inner layer, is waterproof. The outer upholstery fabric copes well with moisture and drizzle, but this isn’t a backpack for a day’s hike in a downpour. <\/p>\n
