Zip shopper bag, grey with a colourful mosaic
This zip shopper bag brings together two very different fabrics. The top is grey and calm, and the base is a band of mosaic made of small triangles in red, turquoise, mustard, pink and navy. The handles are black webbing.
Both fabrics are upholstery offcuts from furniture factories. We will not sew a second bag like this, because every offcut is different.
Dimensions: about 33 cm high and about 47 cm wide (handmade, so up to 2 cm either way). It closes with a zip, has a pram attachment, two outside pockets and a lining with pockets inside.

A zip shopper bag with colour only where it is needed
A grey bag goes with everything, but it can be dull. Here the colour sits only in the bottom band, so the bag still works with almost any outfit, and the mosaic livens it up with every step. The zip at the top means the shopper stops being an open sack: what is inside stays inside on the tram, in the shop and on a walk.
What it is made of
The upper part is a grey upholstery fabric, matt, with a visible weave. The bottom band is a fabric with a geometric mosaic of triangles in many colours. The pattern is small enough to read as a colourful stripe from a distance and as a puzzle up close.
On the front there is a pocket in the same grey fabric, with our label. The black handles run down the whole front to the mosaic. The outer fabrics come from furniture factory offcuts, while the lining, zip and webbing are new.
What fits inside
About 33 cm high and 47 cm wide. It is a wide, low shape: an A4 sheet lies flat in it sideways without folding, and there is still plenty of room next to it for shopping or things for the whole day.
Inside there is a lining with pockets, a place for a water bottle and a compact umbrella, and a clip for keys. Outside there are two pockets. The bag also has a pram attachment, so on a walk it does not have to hang from your shoulder.
Who it is for
For someone who likes colour in small doses. The grey calms the mosaic down, so the bag works with jeans and with a checked jacket alike. It does well for shopping and on the way to work, and it gives a mum with a pram a bag that does not look like an organiser.
One note: the mosaic is at the bottom, which is where a bag most often rubs against floors and seats. Wipe the light parts of the pattern with a damp cloth now and then, before dirt sets in.
How to care for it
Treat stains locally with a damp cloth and a little mild detergent. Wash the whole bag by hand only, in lukewarm water. Dry flat at room temperature. No washing machine, no tumble dryer and no iron.
Frequently asked questions
How does it attach to a pram?
The bag has an attachment that goes over the pram handle. If your pram has an unusual, very thick handle, write to us before buying and we will check.
Is the bag waterproof?
No. Upholstery fabric copes well with drizzle and splashes, but it will soak through in heavy rain.
Can I order a similar one with a different pattern at the bottom?
